I came with a small group around 7:30pm and we had our own room. However, the service was very poor. It took over 10 minutes just to get a menu. And it took another 10 minutes to get our orders placed. We got a large pepperoni pizza. It took at least 20 minutes for our thin crust pizza to come out. The pizza was ok, it was very greasy, but it was also loaded with alcohol. It tasted like the sauce was loaded up with red wine, which was reallly unusual, and not very appealing. The pizza was not that big, and for $16.50, it was way overpriced. I would rather have a $5 Caesars. I will come back to Saints when fat rabbits fly.

Great pizza. Good beer and drinks. Excellent service. Reasonable prices. Not too crowded. Fun atmosphere. There's no reason not to like Saints.

Went here for a Green Bay Packer game. I am from WI and the Packers are my team, so being able to be surrounded by fellow cheeseheads, felt like home. There were plenty of tvs to watch the game on. While there is a lot of space, there is limited seating so if you want to sit instead of stand at the bar, you'll have to get there early. As it was game day, the staff was super busy but very friendly. The cheeseburger and fries were pretty standard as far as cheeseburgers and fries go.

In a nutshell - Saints has AMAZING pizza, average drinks, great live music, and a generic atmosphere. I struggled between 3 and 4 stars but their pizza gave me an extra push :) Saints is the type of place you never think abotu going but when your friend invites you out, you will have a good time. It's never crowded and on the weekends they ususally have good live music. The wait staff is not the friendliest and they always seem to be in a hurry - even if the bar is emtpy. However, because its never crowded, its a great place to grab a drink or app with a group of friends to catch up. They do have a great pack patio and a great reservable room upstairs called The SkyBar. I also know they do a lot for the community - I will visit again but I'm never the first to suggest it. If you do go - opt for any of the pizzas or the chicken wings - you won't be dissapointed.

I am giving them a 3 star rating just because I didn't really get to taste the food so I can't really review them on more than just the bar area. Do not let that stop you from actually checking out the place! I went on a Thursday night and enjoyed the service, music and general feel of the place. I was actually surprised to see families with kids having dinner but then again it was 8pm and not 11pm. I have been told that there is a Salsa Dancing class on the second floor each Thursday night and apparently it is a huge hit so if you are into that then you should definitely stop by. I would go back!

Here again on a quiet Memorial day. Small crowd. Justin, bartender, handling all patrons expertly as usual. Just had small house salads with blackened chicken. Beyond delicious. Some of the higher class places need to take note. Simply done salad, but done right. Chicken breast perfectly blackened and juicy. Blue cheese dressing, fabulous. Wine (j lohr) reasonibly priced. House deluxe pizza is beyond delicious. Such a gem. Again, we enjoy off times and no live band. Fit the bill perfectly today! Enjoying remembering my dad who was a ww2 veteran, and sipping some wine. Very nice reflective day, topped by a comfortable, friendly place, close to home to enjoy some wonderful company and food.

My husband and I went here because it is known to to be a Packer Backer bar (from WI) and it didn't disappoint. We found it via their Facebook page. There wasn't room in the "packer loft" so we sat downstairs. Our server was super friendly, I'd give the service a 5 Star. Hand smoked wings - 5 star. With bourbon glaze - delicious! Pizza - 3 star. It was good. Not great, not bad. But decent for a bar. All in all this is a great place to watch a game with great service and we would definitely go back!

There's no valid reason to give Saint's any less than four stars. The food is always great. The service is always very good. The patrons are always a fun group of people. Saint's had been my go to, feel good bar since 2005 when I moved back to Louisville and my office was two blocks away.

I met my friend at Saints a few days ago after work. He recommended that I try the Halo wings. I haven't stopped thinking about those wings since then. I've been back twice in 3 days. The service is great, the prices are affordable, and the food is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend. Saints is my new favorite place to go in Louisville

3.5 Coming here on a Thursday night = confusion. While my friend and I ate pizza, drank beer and caught up, we saw a stream of people... not dressed for a casual sports bar environment. Think stilettos, short short skirts, Old Spice cologne, spiked hair... you get the drift. As a charter member of The 321 Contact Bloodhound Gang AND Mystery, Inc. (act like ya know), I followed the trails of holes in the floor and strong scent of Brut aftershave to find a pretty intense Latin night going on upstairs. In St. Matthews. On a Thursday. Above a casual pizza/beer/sports joint. Louisville, I don't even know you anymore. As I mentioned, we came here for pizza and beer in a relaxed environment. In addition to the chaos above, there were two groups of guys in polos screaming at each other. I think they were friends. It was all too confusing for me. I slinked in my booth, checked out the porter selection, ordered a Breck's Vanilla and got to gabbing. After a while, we got crazy hungry and dug in to some pizza. We split a small bbq chicken pizza and buffalo chicken dip. The pizza was way too greasy for my tastes. I couldn't get through it. Even sopping up the grease with napkins made for an experience that curdled my stomach with every bite. You know that feeling you get where you need to drink something carbonated lest you throw up? That. That's what I felt. The buffalo chicken dip was a much better bet. Cheese, chicken & buffalo sauce is always a good idea. The dip had a nice kick but wasn't overpowering or painful. I would say that it was a touch on the salty side, though. The chips were a bit stale but after mentioning something about it, the waitress replaced them and brought more after seeing that we had much more dip to get through. We wound up not finishing it. I don't know that we were full, tired or dried out from the salt. But, it was pretty good (not great) while it lasted. Get the dip. Skip the bbq chicken pizza. Enjoy the beer. Stay downstairs. That is all.

Thursday night at Sky Bar is the epicenter of Louisville's growing salsa scene. Jasmine A's review provides most of the details you need, and I'll add that there's an introductory salsa class at around 9p. My only real critique is that the band (Cosa Seria, typically) plays songs that can be a little on the long side, due to frequent extended jams and solos. While this is great for those who are primarily there to listen, it isn't ideal for dancing. Because of this, I sometimes find myself enjoying the DJ breaks more than the band's sets.

My 4-star review is based solely on their status as the Packers' Home Away From Home. I came here recently with some friends to enjoy the Packer game in their "Lambeau Lounge" (or Loft....can't exactly remember). Big screen, lots of fans, couches and plenty of tables set up for the game. The atmosphere was helped by the enthusiastic diehards in full-on Packer regalia, leading chants (despite my team's dreadful loss that day...) The food I got was so-so. The beers I ordered took a while, because they only had them at the bar on the first floor. But for a Packer-viewing experience, this has been my favorite place so far.

I'd say 10 stars but the music is so damn loud. Live music is great and dancing salsa is intense. Much love here. I'll be back. Bring a dancing partner:)

They seem to have a nice drink selection and friendly staff. The outdoor area in the back was cozy and had a great time there with my friends. The worst part I can remember was the upstairs ladies room. It was in need of lots of special attention.

Since the Sky Bar (upstairs of Saints) is only opened certain nights, I've only been here for two types of events: Thursday night Salsa and the GLIP/YPAL "World Party - a big dance party. So clearly this bar is made for dancing. The drinks aren't cheap but they aren't terribly expensive. Since there is always a lot of dancing going on, it can get pretty hot, but I've usually felt comfortable with just starting a pile of our group's coats on a table or couch. The set up is a bit let's mingle if you will. There is the rectangular bar in the middle, couches to the left, dance floor in the back and some tables to the right. Salsa nights on Thurs seem pretty packed. Friendly crowd, a few skeezeballs of course, but for the most part just nice guys and girls who want to dance! Even though I am no where near a good chunk of the people that go here, everyone was welcoming. If I felt awkward it was my own uncertainty of abilities! The World Parties are one of the best nights of dancing that exists in Louisville. Bunch of 20s and 30s having a good time, listening to lots of different music and dancing the night away. I wish it was the world party every weekend at Sky :( I do wish it was open more frequently!

I love SkyBar's Thursday Salsa Night. It's always an amazing time and Cosa Seria is a fantastic band. They play a mix of Salsa, Bachata, Cha Cha, and Merengue beats which I really enjoy. There is a $7 cover and the dancing usually gets going around 10:30 or 11ish. The dance floor can get pretty crowded but there are plenty of couches to sit on and everyone is very friendly and approachable. I'm usually too busy dancing to do much drinking while i'm there but the occasional drink that I have purchased has always seemed reasonably affordable. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. They also have a big cooler of water available so you don't have to feel guilty taking up the bartender's time ordering water. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to get into Latin dance. They offer beginner, intermediate and advanced lessons as well on Thursday nights as well before the open dancing.

LOVE the cheese bread. I cant even order a reg pizza anymore when the cheese bread is on the menu. Back patio is huge and a perfect spot to enjoy the company youre with.. I will say, my biggest complaint is the obnoxiously LOUD speakers in the restroom. I dont know if its intentional or not but i swear im completely deaf by the time I come out. turn it DOWN! :) Agreed with the other review, its a bit dark inside.. esp on football sundays, kinda feels like im in a cave. I do like that they have quite a few games going on all tv's.. makes for a fun day.

Great bar to drink or visit. Has a nice outdoor seating area in the rear and ample seating inside. A short, limited menu with typical bar food. The pizzas seem to be popular with my group. There is a trivia club that plays there on Monday's at 6:30. Try this place and you probably won't be disappointed.

I've been going to Salsa every almost every Thursday for almost 4 years now. Still rocks!!! Probably my favorite night of the week. Cosa Seria plays an awesome array of Salsa, Cha Cha, Merengue, and then some. The DJ is always active with new and popular music. The dancing is the best I have seen in Louisville. Ceck out the Salsa lessons, they are great!! Food items are pretty limited but nntheless very good. I don't drink alcohol, so hard for me to say how the drinking is. Definitely going strong, I don't see Salsa Thursdays going away anytime soon.

My friends and I were in town for the Kentucky Derby and came here the night before to get a few drinks and hang out. Not only did we get a lot more than a few drinks (and shots), but we closed the place down and had one HELLUVA time! This place is definitely a great time!

Just watch your ticket and you'll be fine. I have lived in this neighborhood most of my life and recently many new bars have "popped" up. I usually prefer to support the local guys. However, Saints has been very disappointing recently. Great place to watch the game. Food was quick and the order was correct. No problems there! Great place to meet up with friends BUT watch your tickets at the end of the night. I was charged twice for my tab and the server told me it would be fixed the next business day. It's 6 days later and it is not fixed. My husband went to meet his friends on a different night and the exact same thing happened. He is still waiting on $60 to be returned to his account. The owner blamed it on the point of sale system. Either way, we both paid four tabs instead of two. As someone who works in customer service, I am keenly familiar with POS systems and you can usually do refunds within 24-hours. I could walk within two blocks to many other places and not worry about being charged over $70 for a $28 bill. As long as you keep watch on your tickets-you'll have a great time.

It was overall very good. The breadsticks are OK; the pizza is very good. It's always a fun atmosphere every time.

Thursday nights is Salsa with live band. Starting at 8, there is a lesson, and 9-close is dancing. The band plays roughly 80% salsa, and 10% cha cha 10% bachata. Music was great! The crowd was good (not overcrowded, no elbowing necessary). Most people are there to dance and have fun. It didn't have the feel of a meet (or is it Meat) market. This seems to be a constant for Thursday nights now. Who knows for how long! I am definately going to enjoy it while it lasts.

Best food in St. Matthews. Great pizza and sandwiches, all made fresh in house. Good family neighborhood place, that had 16 draught beers, and lots of other cold beers and drinks. After 10 it's a good hangout place, or the Skybar upstairs has excellent live DJ's. The new patio is a very nice and welcome addition. My favorite place in town!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
